Match-day reality: plan around the crowds
Toronto Stadium is the tournament name for BMO Field at Exhibition Place. Toronto hosts six matches on June 12, 17, 20, 23 and 26, plus July 2, 2026. The official host-city guidance says there is no general parking at or near the stadium, and match-day road closures begin before kickoff. Exhibition GO is about a five-minute walk from the venue; the 29 Dufferin bus and 504 King streetcar also connect to walking routes. Book a table when possible, leave extra time, and treat every walking estimate below as approximate.
1. Hotel X Toronto
Approximate walk: 5 to 7 minutes. Hotel X is the closest option in this guide and works best when your group wants a proper seat rather than a quick counter order. Its dining lineup ranges from rooftop cocktails and Japanese-influenced plates at Valerie to comfort food at Roses Social and a sports-focused setting at Playbook Commons. Address: 111 Princes' Boulevard. Best for: the shortest walk, mixed groups and a sit-down meal.
2. Left Field Brewery
Approximate walk: 10 to 12 minutes. Left Field's Liberty Village taproom is a natural pre- or post-match stop for locally brewed beer and a casual atmosphere. It is a stronger choice for drinks and a simple bite than for a quiet dinner, and event-day seating may fill quickly. Address: 40 Hanna Avenue. Best for: craft beer and match-day energy.
3. Mildred's Temple Kitchen
Approximate walk: 10 to 12 minutes. Mildred's is the brunch option, known for a broad daytime menu and its blueberry pancakes. Weekend service can be especially busy, while reservation and evening availability may vary by day. Address: 85 Hanna Avenue. Best for: brunch before an afternoon match or a slower meal away from pub food.
4. Aloette Go
Approximate walk: 11 to 13 minutes. This Liberty Market Building counter is built for takeaway, with burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, fries, salads and sweets that travel well. Seating is not the main attraction, so it suits fans who want to eat quickly and keep moving. Address: 171 East Liberty Street. Best for: polished fast food and grab-and-go convenience.
5. Something in the Water Brewing Co.
Approximate walk: 11 to 13 minutes. Something in the Water combines a compact craft brewery with indoor and patio seating. Beer is the main draw, while the food offering gives groups an easy alternative to a standard sports bar menu. Address: 151 East Liberty Street. Best for: a relaxed brewery stop with food available.
6. Burger Drops
Approximate walk: 12 to 15 minutes. Burger Drops is a focused smash-burger shop with fries, shakes and limited indoor seating. It is one of the most practical options when speed matters, but expect lines and have a takeaway plan on busy match days. Address: 116 Atlantic Avenue. Best for: burgers, quick service and eating on the move.
7. Mozy's
Approximate walk: 12 to 15 minutes. Mozy's specializes in charcoal-grilled chicken served with rice, fries and bold sauces. The menu is compact and filling, which makes it useful for groups that want a substantial meal without committing to a long restaurant service. Address: 114 Atlantic Avenue. Best for: grilled chicken and a hearty pre-match meal.
8. Brodflour
Approximate walk: 12 to 15 minutes. Brodflour is a bakery and cafe that mills flour on site and serves sandwiches, bread and pastries. It is primarily a daytime stop, so check closing time before relying on it for an evening match. Address: 8 Pardee Avenue. Best for: coffee, sandwiches and a pre-game pastry.
9. Kitchen Hub at Longo's Liberty Village
Approximate walk: 15 to 18 minutes. Kitchen Hub inside Longo's is the flexible group option: multiple takeout brands share one pickup area, making it easier when everyone wants something different. The setting is functional rather than atmospheric, but it offers casual seating and a broad range of meals. Address: 1108 King Street West. Best for: mixed appetites, families and quick choice.
10. Pennies
Approximate walk: about 23 minutes. Pennies is a casual bar known for sliders, snack food and a large patio. It fits groups looking for a lively stop where the game-day mood matters as much as the meal. Address: 127 Strachan Avenue. Best for: patio seating, drinks and shareable snacks.
11. Le Swan
Approximate walk: about 25 minutes. Le Swan blends a French bistro with an old-school diner, serving comfort-food classics in a more polished room than most match-day bars. It is better suited to an unhurried dinner, and reservations are a sensible move. Address: 892 Queen Street West. Best for: date-night atmosphere, wine and a full sit-down meal.
12. Prime Seafood Palace
Approximate walk: 25 to 30 minutes. Prime Seafood Palace is the splurge choice, centred on steak, seafood and a design-forward dining room. This is not a quick stop: reserve ahead and leave enough time for both the meal and the walk back toward Exhibition Place. Address: 944 Queen Street West. Best for: celebrations and a high-end dinner.
How to choose quickly
Choose Hotel X when distance is the priority; Liberty Village for the largest concentration of breweries, burgers and takeaway; Brodflour or Mildred's for daytime eating; Pennies for a casual patio; and Le Swan or Prime Seafood Palace when the meal is part of the occasion. For the least stressful arrival, take GO Transit to Exhibition GO, use TTC, or walk from a nearby neighbourhood instead of driving into the closure zone.
